The Model 1620 large-diameter 3LPE steel pipe anti-corrosion coating production line was specially purchased by a leading UAE oil & gas pipeline enterprise for its Qatar branch. The client has long anticipated the commissioning of this core production line. However, the original delivery schedule was suspended and repeatedly delayed due to sudden regional conflicts in the Middle East in late February, which disrupted shipping access across the Strait of Hormuz.
Faced with blocked sea lanes and surging international ocean freight rates, Huashida held multiple rounds of in-depth consultations with the client and evaluated multiple logistics routes. Finally, a reliable combined sea-land transportation solution was finalized. Starting from July 20, the complete line was loaded into 16 containers and shipped out in batches over four consecutive days, bound for the client’s project site in Qatar.
The buyer is a multinational flagship enterprise headquartered in the UAE, specializing in anti-corrosion processing for long-distance oil & gas transmission pipelines with extensive business coverage across the Middle East. The Model 1620 3LPE coating line imported this time will exclusively serve Qatar’s oil & gas projects, seawater desalination plants and municipal pipeline networks. After on-site inspections, the client fully recognized that this equipment solves core industry pain points including high-speed wrapping of large-diameter steel pipes and superior coating adhesion. Pipes processed by this line feature outstanding salt-alkali resistance and corrosion resistance, perfectly matching the high-temperature, high-salinity geological conditions of the Middle East, and have been widely adopted in numerous key local projects.
This equipment is certified as the First Set of Major Technological Equipment in Shandong Province, integrated with multiple proprietary patented processes independently developed by Huashida. After the contract signing, Huashida adhered to strict quality standards: we selected premium global core components, manufactured every single part with meticulous craftsmanship, and implemented rigorous full-process quality control. Upon full completion of all line components, cross-functional teams from our technical, production and foreign trade departments carried out comprehensive parameter testing. The equipment also successfully passed stringent third-party inspection conducted by auditors assigned by TÜV, the German Technical Inspection Association, commissioned by the client.
Shortly after full inspection and readiness for shipment, geopolitical conflicts broke out in the Middle East, blocking transit through the Strait of Hormuz — the vital global energy shipping artery — and driving ocean freight costs sharply higher. Amid volatile regional tensions and massive obstacles to overseas trade, Huashida stood side by side with the client. We explored all available channels to break logistics bottlenecks, repeatedly calculated and planned safe, efficient cross-border transportation routes.
After months of joint efforts and coordination, the complete coating line packed in 16 containers has officially departed for Qatar.
