Limitations of Conventional Two-step Production Process
Most flexible pre-insulated pipes available on the market are manufactured via two-step processing. This workflow features scattered, lengthy procedures, low overall production efficiency and high energy consumption. Pipes produced through this process tend to suffer from eccentric insulation layers and inconsistent finished product quality, failing to meet the mass production demand for high-quality pre-insulated pipes from modern district heating projects. This has become a key area for continuous optimization and upgrading within the pipe machinery sector.
To address the drawbacks of traditional pipe manufacturing, Qingdao Huashida has carried out targeted technical research in collaboration with Qingdao University of Science and Technology, launching the intelligent one-step PERT/PEX flexible pre-insulated pipe production line. Featuring proprietary flow-coating pre-insulation flow guiding sizing technology, the equipment reshapes the pipe manufacturing workflow. It consolidates multiple procedures including inner pipe conveying, substrate film corona treatment, continuous polyurethane pouring and outer layer extrusion coating into a single station, enabling one-time continuous composite forming of pipes and eliminating segmented batch processing. This product fills the gap in high-end integrated intelligent pre-insulated pipe manufacturing equipment in China.
Core Comprehensive Advantages of the Production Line
The entire line is fitted with 46 full-process data acquisition sensors. Supported by a PLC control system paired with CAE simulation analysis, the system dynamically regulates temperature, pressure, haul-off speed and multi-dimensional adjustment mechanisms in real time. The finished product yield stably exceeds 98%, effectively resolving the issue of eccentric pipe insulation layers.
Custom flow guiding sizing molds deliver excellent material compatibility, supporting stable online integrated composite processing of plastic pipes such as PERT, PEX and PPR, as well as steel and copper pipes.
The line accommodates pipe diameters ranging from Φ32 mm to Φ250 mm. The resulting PERT/PEX flexible pre-insulated pipes feature uniform wall thickness and outstanding wear resistance, with long-term temperature resistance up to 110°C. Their performance benchmarks products manufactured by top-tier international equipment. The pipes are widely adopted in district heating for residential communities, underfloor heating, oilfield transmission pipelines, deep-sea oil & gas thermal insulation and various other engineering applications.
