Traditional PERT/PEXA flexible pre-insulated pipes are manufactured using the conventional “two-step” production process, which involves complex procedures, poor insulation layer concentricity, inconsistent product quality, low efficiency, and high energy consumption. These limitations make it difficult to meet the growing demand for high-quality pre-insulated piping systems.
To overcome the technological barriers and break the long-term dominance of overseas suppliers in one-step forming technology, Qingdao Huashida Machinery Co., Ltd., together with Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Qingdao University of Science and Technology, carried out targeted research and development. As a result, Huashida successfully developed a high-end intelligent one-step PERT/PEXA flexible pre-insulated pipe production line, which was selected as one of the First (Set) Major Technical Equipment Projects of Shandong Province.
The production line adopts Huashida’s independently developed Flow-Coating Insulation Guiding and Sizing Technology, integrating multiple processes—including inner pipe extrusion and conveying, corona treatment of the base film, continuous polyurethane (PU) foaming injection, and O-type jacket layer forming—into a single production station. This innovative technology enables continuous composite forming in one step, completely transforming the traditional manufacturing process and filling the gap in China’s high-end intelligent one-step pre-insulated pipe production equipment.
Since its commercialization, Huashida’s intelligent one-step PERT/PEXA flexible pre-insulated pipe production line has demonstrated strong technological innovation and commercial value. It has been successfully applied by many well-known enterprises in China and exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and the Middle East, becoming a representative achievement of China’s advanced manufacturing industry.
